The Chainsmokers – Concert Review.

The Chainsmokers.

[PARK CITY,UT.] There is just so much to love about the freshest obsession in EDM known as The Chainsmokers formed by the masterminds Alex Pall and Drew Taggart. Granted, the duo’s been together dropping mixes since 2,012 and the release of #SELFIE has gotten them a lot of buzz. Which I liked the first few times and then quickly got annoyed by it. However, their track with SirenXX called KANYE will never get old to me and I had no clue The Chainsmokers were behind both songs until a few weeks back.

Only a few years in and they’re already headlining and selling out shows faster than I can fist pump! Yesterday nights show at Park City Live was beyond sold out and ended up being a successful mess. Much appreciation to Enes and Dustin for granting StyleHeirs vip press access to an unforgettable performance by The Chainsmokers, which needs to go on record as my first EDM show that I’ve genuinely enjoyed. It felt like a New Years Eve party, it felt as if I was celebrating a big accomplishment, it satisfied my craving to attend an EDM festival. There hasn’t been anything that I experienced like this before – well, sober at least.

A noteworthy opening performance by special guests Goshfather and Jinco who helped usher in the right tone for tonights main event. The boys jumped into starting the show off with Drew standing on top of the DJ table hyping the crowd with loud lights and sound. Naturally the audience ate it up and spit it right back because that’s what you do at a rave apparently. Music is definitely therapeutic and the guys work hard to bring the best and favourite beats to their shows giving all the fans a time to let loose and not give a fuck in the world. Not only are they DJ’s, they’re also motivational speakers who want their peers to live life to the fullest. Drew mentioned how he could careless about the actual artist Kanye and advised the attendees to do the same. He then continued on explaining the importance of self-focus and to just go wild, life is meant to party throughout.

In turn, the crowd inspired them to continue mixing and playing classic hits from hip-hop to alternative tracks that had their golden touch to remix beats suitable for every listener. There was lots of new material given yesterday night and my most favourite is their recent release titled Good Intentions available for digital download on iTunes. A song that was well received and the fans would not let them leave the stage so they performed an encore and another encore that gave a sample of their new projects. A little word of caution – their “new shit” is so much better than what they’re mainly known for. Right after the show ended their more humble-charismatic personalities shined through by personally interacting with their fans and even talked with them for a bit. There is only three more stops left on their tour so get where you can to see them perform live. It’s a show better than the last EDM show you went to, I can promise you that much.
