[SEATTLE.] A special appreciation to Tas and BANKS for granting #StyleHeirs.com access to The Showbox in Seattle to attend BANKS’ performance, the thing that surprised me most was seeing a lot of guys that showed up to support the GODDESS Tour. The loud cheering that came from the men had their girlfriends questioning their excitement. The concert goers in Seattle knew how to attend a live show by shouting with all their might every word to each song whilst holding their phones as they snapped along the live experience BANKS had to offer. The energy that was exuded out each time she hyped the crowd simply by saying ‘Seattle’ brought out more love in the venue. It was helpful that her fans were able to sing along because she was drowned out a bit by the background instruments.

Even though it was a little tough to hear her vocals the attendees knew enough to vibe out and they didn’t seem bothered by it. BANKS had the crowd involved in her concert by giving a little back story on a few selected songs. Her honesty by admitting she might forget some lyrics to the newer songs -not released on her debut studio album called Goddess– displayed that she’s relatable and extended an invite to join in with singing. It’s always good to witness true artists at work when the Los Angeles based singer began to play the piano herself as she sung. The thing that I liked most about BANKS is her lyrics, especially in the Drowning track. As she executed each song you noticed the emotions she put into writing each song. As she did so, she put her fandom into a stupor of thoughts that carried each person into higher highs of emotions.  In a sense she captured each soul and educated them of their birthright of being true Goddess’ and uplifted them through her trance of rhythm and her deity presence.

Normally, I don’t focus on what an artists wears when they perform yet I need to make mention on BANKS all-black ensemble with a lace cap-like piece draped over her shoulders. It was a very fitting outfit that complemented her classy and hipster persona. Not to mention her last name logo displayed in the back ground with lighting that accented her visibility. She ended the show with her most popular songs allowing the fans to leave on a good note.

The opening act from Australia called the MOVEMENT was the best choice to support BANKS with the North American cities. The group helped usher in the right attitude with a similar tempo setting the crowd in the right direction to welcome BANKS to the stage. Their IVORY music video is a must-see, being nominated for the Best Int’l Dance Video at the UK’s MusicVideoAwards.
