Etro Man SS2020.

[MILAN, IT.] The fashion show enthusiasts for Milan fashion week were taken through a ‘Desert Saga’ creatively envisioned up by Etro’s principal designer Kean Etro. Inspired by the desiccated terrains in Africa and the distant fantasy lands of the Star Wars franchise, delivered an exciting collection. Upon arriving, VIP’s were immediately taken to another dimension through their Photo Booth filled with Star Wars and Etro props. Once inside the humid-infested venue, guests marvelled over the beautiful Kolam-like art installation displayed on the ground that depicted the map of the world.

Sadly, the chalk-filled art piece was short lived once the show began because the models quickly strutted over it which produced a colourful dusty trail. The clothing shown weren’t entirely similar to the silhouettes found in the futuristic motion-picture, yet, Etro added his own relaxed and bourgeoisie DNA to the mix. Everything conveys sophisticated ease: cozy ponchos with a nomadic vibe, jacquard blousons embellished with tribal motifs, comfortable trousers in striped fabrics, shirts decorated with the iconic paisley crafted from alternative sources, such as eucalyptus. The use of graphic Star Wars logos mixed with loose-fitting attire engulfed in layers gave a youthful feel that will have the youngsters gravitate to the brand more than prior seasons.
