[TOKYO, JAPAN.] The definition of Tokyo fashion intermingled with western culture can only be found under the Japenese label FORTUNA Tokyo. To start off the show, Akiko sent out an amazing choreographed display of Samurai sword fighting. The Samurai model sported a stunning leather jacket that showcased the brand’s identity with pairing two cultures together. The pieces that I gravitated to the most were the suit coats with hoodies. That entire concept is brilliant, Akiko pulled that inspiration from the idea of a Samurai helmet.

Another piece that captured my attention was the cobalt blue bomber jacket that had a similar enclosure to a traditional Samurai’s everyday attire. Something I wish Akiko did with the Samurai battlefield inspired jacket was instead of having a solid black jacket, have an actual Samurai print. Perhaps, that will have to be a made-to-order custom jacket I need to request since that’s a service FORTUNA offers. Most of the looks that were sent down the runway I would totally wear out and about. It’s a brand that I’ve recently been introduced to and I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for what other designs Akiko create in the future.
