[ HONOLULU, HI.] The team behind Hawaiian Airlines brought such amazing talent from different destinations slash locations that they actually fly to and from. Last year, I really wish I came out to see the show because Todd Snyder and Fern Mallis were involved with the production. Since last year was a great showcase I was really looking forward to see which designers they selected this year. Turns out it was another successful year of great creative teams.
From Australia – Dion Lee,
Special appreciation to Sara M with Stryker Weiner for granting StyleHeirs.com press access to the Runway To Runway presented by Hawaiian Airlines at #HonoluluFW in Hawaii.
Behind the scenes there was major chaos of brilliant clothes mixed with tall stunning models running around getting photographs captured and dressers carefully assembled looks prior to the presentation. It was a bit difficult to keep each designers cluster of clothes grouped in the same area yet I took the opportunity to shoot every shiny item that demanded my attention.
Greedilous and Pameo Pose were my absolute favourites from the show and their pieces are definitely the kind of clothes that I would rock with and want in my closet for sure. Greedilous had designs that were super sporadic in prints and colours. The menswear reminded me of the popular head-of-the-curve South Korean fashion and Pameo Pose was more for womenswear but the swimwear wasn’t of the norm we see in western swimwear fashion. Before the actual runway show, Hawaiian Airlines took the time to showcase their own uniforms worn above and below the wings at the airport. To the workers it’s everyday clothes to them but for me seeing their uniforms for the first time was great and different from what I’m used to seeing at airports. Wish other airlines took to a more fun vibrant approach with their uniforms.
Please enjoy the snaps I took backstage of all the designs presented in the show.
