Carlos Campos FW18.

[NEW YORK, NY.] The entire world went to see COCO from Disney‘s Pixar and the hype is still in the air. Thanks to Carlos Campos for delivering a massive collection centred around Mexico’s style icon and most influential singer Juan Gabriel. Each piece gives me ganas de llorar – but these are happy tears. It’s as if Campos translated each heartfelt song from Gabriel into a depictive garment worth wearing in the streets or during a performance.

The label is primarily a menswear brand yet this collection displayed enough clothes that can be worn throughout any gender role. It makes me happy to see Campos continue to push his label to further heights with including womenswear and staying with his Latino influences. Although Campos is from Honduras, his showcase had a lot of similar designs from mariachi attire and I’m all for it. Especially the outerwear and how the silky-satin just flowed on the runway being tailored perfectly. The “Noa Stripe” print throughout the season pulls at my heartstrings heavy.
